LIK Houston held its Grand Opening and unveiling of Tranquil Blue on April 27, 2013. Thunderstorms and flooding in the area didn’t stop over 300 attendees from walking the red carpet at the Galleria Mall and enjoying fine art and hors d’oeuvres at Peter’s first gallery in Texas.
The highly anticipated event began with an exclusive reception for Peter’s valued previous collectors in the Houston area. “Tranquil Blue was featured prominently in the gallery and collectors enjoyed exclusive private viewings of Peter’s edition 1/1 Illusion. Last seen at Christie’s New York, Illusion made its Texas debut to a delighted group of collectors and art consultants alike.
While several collectors won signed copies of Peter’s books Spirit of America and Las Vegas: Beyond the Neon, three lucky collectors went home with signed copies of Peter Lik’s 25th Anniversary Big Book. No collector went home empty-handed though. As a special gift from the artist, Peter Lik gave his image Texas Summer, to every collector in attendance to commemorate this special occasion.
