Peter Lik Receives Four Silver Awards from AIPP Queensland

Updated 07/28/2021
Based in Peter’s home country, Australia, it is one of the most prominent organizations in the field of photography.

Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP), which awarded Peter the top honor of Master Photographer in 2002, has since continued to praise his magnificent landscape images over the years. The 2015 AIPP Queensland Epson State Awards recently recognized an impressive four photographs from the artist – one of which garnered its first award win.

Celestial Dreams is a magical vision of a silhouetted tree against a sparkly night sky, while Scarlet Moods is a wintery contrast of stark tree trunks underneath a vibrant cascade of leaves. Infinity tree is a fantastical exploration of a Japanese maple, while Painted Shores (seen above) takes its viewers to the enchanting coastline of Peter’s youth at sunset. Although each image achieved a Silver Award in the landscape category this year, it was the very first professional accolade for Infinity Tree, released only a few weeks ago to a very warm reception from collectors.

The timing could not be more perfect for Peter, who was clearly thrilled about the overwhelming news: “What can I say? There are so many reasons to be grateful for this recognition. Just to be embraced by an institution in my home country is an incredible feeling.” Peter has won awards from AIPP every year since 2007 and this is the second year in a row he has taken home honors from AIPP Queensland. With a myriad of distinctions under his belt since the recent start of 2015, it seems Peter is having pretty good year.

Congratulations, Peter!
