Peter’s Lik’s Maui Cliff House Gets Prominent Mention

Updated 08/12/2022

Appropriately titled Aura, Peter’s heavenly architectural triumph atop the cliffs of West Maui has only been on the market for a few months, and in that time it has caught the attention of many publications around the world. Most recently, the expansive, Zen paradise was examined in great detail by well-known publication Maui No Ka ‘Oi (Maui is the Best) in a massive 12-page spread that left no stone unturned.

In a piece titled The Way Home, by Rita Goldman, readers learn the history of the property, which was originally purchased years ago as a modern surf retreat for the previous owners. After Peter came on the scene in 2013, this secluded getaway with a 360-degree panoramic view was further transformed into a Buddhist’s paradise – highlighted with the poignant, elemental additions of fire bowls, stone flooring, and cedar ceilings.

Aura is located on a beautiful 18-acre site and consists of three connected huts. As the article aptly describes, a prized, state-of-the-art hydraulic lever system completely opens the central hut’s main walls, bringing the Hawaiian outdoors in. A Zen garden and heated saline pool are just a few more special touches that help to round out this estate, which according to Peter, makes one “feel as if you are a world away from anyone else.”

The recent article, which also describes Aura’s incredibly secluded location above Honolua Bay and Mokuleia Beach, includes a few quotes from local Sotheby’s realtor and Peter’s current representation, Courtney Brown: “When I saw Peter’s changes I thought he had deliberately incorporated earth, fire, metal, water, and wood.” That was no coincidence as Peter has always been “drawn to the elements.” “It’s a theme you’ll find throughout my homes,” Peter added.

Finally, Goldman’s article – which features a pictorial selection captured by Peter himself – allows the artist to answer the question on everyone’s mind: “Why sell such a stunning home?” He puts it simply, stating: “Traveling so much around the world and running our Las Vegas corporate offices left me limited time to enjoy the property. It was time to let someone else experience this amazing place.”
